St. John's Hospital Demolition

There isn't much left of the old St. John's Hospital anymore. Demolition of the buildings at 1407 West Fourth Street is largely complete, and the number of trucks hauling debris from the Mayo Clinic-owned property is expected to ramp up.

Much of the debris is slated to be recycled into material that can be used in projects like roads and parking lots. An estimated 70% of the debris will be re-used this way. The rest will need to be disposed of in a landfill due to it largely being mixed with rebar.

While Mayo Clinic doesn't have immediate plans for the property once demolition is complete, the land is zoned residential.

Discussions about the future of the property will likely continue early next year.
