Goodhue County Sheriff's Office Deputy Scams

Law enforcement is constantly trying to make the public aware of all the clever scams but people often are still being fooled into giving out private information and/or money.

Goodhue County Sheriff's Office Community Engagement Deputy, Jen Jannett, says scammers are using technology to their advantage.

Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not just the senior population being tricked.

Deputy Jannett says a big clue that you are being scammed is if the caller or texter wants you to be secretive about what you need the payment for they are demanding.

Some scammers even claim your bank is in on some mysterious scheme.
