Candidate filing in has closed for people running for office in Red Wing.
Gary Iocco, a former Goodhue County commissioner, and Nicky Buck, a current Red Wing School Board member, are running for Red Wing Mayor.
The Red Wing City Council will look different next year, with Evan Brown, who represents Wards 3 and 4, announcing he’s not running.
Because more than two candidates have filed for Wards 3 & 4 Council Member, that race will require a primary election on Tuesday, August 13th between Ben Weldon, Ashley Bickle, and Beth Thomas Snyder. The top 2 vote getters will face off in November.
Only residents of Wards 3 & 4 will have a City office to vote for during the primary.
Don Kliewer, who represents Ward 2, will face off against Min MartinOakes.
Council President Kim Beise has no one opposing him in Ward 1 in the November election.
