The body of a 60-year old Cannon Falls man who was reported missing was presumed to been found Saturday around 6:20 pm.
On Saturday, a second search was conducted in the wooded areas south of the river for Christopher Dobson and because of favorable weather conditions another search of the river was started.
The river had been partially searched using Remote Operated Marine Drones on Tuesday. Saturday during the river search a body was located within the search area. The body was that of an adult male.
The Cannon Falls Police Department, Cannon Falls Fire Department and Cannon Falls Ambulance were assisted by the Dakota County Special Operations Team, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fire Departments from Randolph/Hampton, Miesville and K-9 Search Midwest and MN Aerial Solutions.
The missing person search has been suspended pending positive identification of the found body by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Once official identification has been made additional information will be made available.
Foot tracks show Dobson left the house on a wooded trail toward the Cannon River with his dog last Monday. There were foot tracks found on the ice at river's edge and the dog was found wet at the neighbor's house.
