At the start of Monday night’s Red Wing City Council meeting, Mayor Mike Wilson proclaim Sunday, March 31, 2024, as Red Wing Rings Day in the city of Red Wing.
Longtime Red Wing Arts member, Joan Norgaard was there to accept Mayor Wilson's proclamation.
As Bells of downtown Red Wing will toll on Sunday, March 31 at 11 am for 10 minutes as a celebration of unity.
Residents are invited to join in the bell ringing at their homes.
Joan Norgaard, who the Mayor noted will turn 100 in July, came up with the idea of ringing of the bells throughout the city during Covid when churchgoers were unable to attend church in person.
