Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes and Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Secretary-designee Randy Romanski toured the newly renovated UW-River Falls Dairy Pilot Plant Thursday.
WEDC awarded the UW-River Falls Dairy Pilot Plant a $250,000 Targeted Industry Projects grant that helped fabricate the plant’s high-temperature short-time pasteurization system.
The renovation has allowed the university to update the plant’s 30-year-old equipment and to increase its capacity for dairy processing short courses and workshops.
The changes will better position the plant to aid small dairies and farmers develop new products and increase demand for milk.
