A 77- year old Red Wing man escaped fatal injury Tuesday when the SUV he was driving was hit by a semi truck Tuesday around 7:30 am.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, James Olson suffered non-life-threatening injuries after the semi, going northbound on Highway 61 near Milepost 93 in Red Wing, collided with his car while he was crossing the median in the intersection.
The driver of the semi truck has been identified as 63-year-old Richard Nelson from Alexandria, MN.
Nelson was not injured in the crash.
