National Weather Service SKYWARN


The National Weather Service in La Crosse is looking for storm spotters for the spring and summer severe weather season.


Todd Shea, warning coordination meteorologist, says SKYWARN is a volunteer program that help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the NWS.


Shea says storm spotters help out with more than just severe storms.


In person training will be in Lake City at the Lake City Public Safety Building on March 28th at 6:30 pm.


In Rochester the session will be held at Empire Event Center April 13th at 6:30 pm.


Winona County Historical Society will host a training session April 27th at 6:30 pm.


There will also be 3 more webinars, the next one is March 30th.
