Lake City Samuelson Statue

Lake City Mayor Mark Nichols says Destination Lake City is purchasing a statue in honor of Ralph Samuelson, who invented water skiing in Lake City in 1922.

Nichols says he fully expects City Council approval of the installation of the bronze statue.The new statue will be put in the newly-renovated Ohuta Park between the splash pad and boat ramp.

The statue has been ordered and will be dedicated on July 2 this year.
