UW-River Falls will begin fall semester with a new leader in the Chancellor’s Office. Maria Gallo, Ph.D., former president of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., will begin as UWRF’s 20th chancellor on Thursday, July 15.
Gallo, a Fulbright Scholar, and a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America, earned her bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Cornell University and both her master’s degree in crop science and Ph.D. in genetics from North Carolina State University.
Gallo says she was inspired by the university’s commitment to academic excellence, student success, and affordability.
Gallo was selected for the UWRF leadership role by the UW System Board of Regents in May. UW System President Tommy Thompson emphasized Gallo’s extensive academic background in announcing her selection as UWRF’s next chancellor.
