The shorthanded Minnesota Timberwolves weren't able to turn an 18-point comeback into a win during a 115-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets at Target Center. The Timberwolves were down by 18 in the first half before turning the tides with a 29-17 run in the third quarter. However, Minnesota conceded a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter to hand Denver the win. Anthony Edwards had 30 points in the losing effort. Minnesota is in third place in the Western Conference at 47-and-22. The Wolves host Cleveland on Friday.

Filip Gustavsson stonewalled the Ducks as the Minnesota Wild beat Anaheim 4-0 at Honda Center. Gustavsson stopped all 27 shots that he faced in the shutout. Ryan Hartman, Jon Merrill, and Kirill Kaprizov all scored during a three-goal second period, and Jacob Lucchini added a goal in the third. The Wild are on an eight-game point streak. Minnesota moved up to fifth place in the Central Division with 76 points and a 34-27-and-8 record. They're just three points behind Vegas for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Minnesota visits the Los Angeles Kings tonight.

The Minnesota Vikings are adding a Pro Bowl player to their secondary. The team signed cornerback Shaq Griffin to a one-year deal worth six million dollars yesterday. Griffin was named to the 2019 Pro Bowl with Seattle, but he's been on three teams over the past two seasons. He played in 13 games between Houston and Carolina last season, making 39 tackles and interception one pass.

The Minnesota Twins are back in action when they take on the Detroit Tigers in a Spring Training game at Lee Health Sports Complex this afternoon. The Twins were off yesterday after beating Boston 5-2 on Sunday. Louie Varland is slated to start for Minnesota today. First pitch is at 12:05PM.

The Minnesota Gophers came away with a 73-72 last second win over Butler in the First Round of the NIT tournament at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Elijah Hawkins knocked down a pair of free throws with five seconds left in regulation, and Butler missed a game-winning jump-shot at the buzzer. Dawson Garcia poured in 25 points in the victory, while Hawkins had 11 points to go with 15 assists. Minnesota will play the winner of today's game between SMU and Indiana State in the Second Round later this week.

The NCAA men's basketball tournament field is getting clearer. Wagner took down Howard 71-68 in a battle for the 16th-seed in the West region, while Colorado State blew out Virginia 67-42 to earn the 10th-seed in the Midwest. Meanwhile, Wisconsin earned the fifth-seed in the South region and will play 12th-seeded James Madison in Brooklyn on Friday night. Marquette got the second-seed in the South and will play 15th-seeded Western Kentucky in Indianapolis on Friday afternoon.
