Saturday Scores:

Boys Basketball Section 1AA Semi-Finals at Mayo Civic Auditorium:

Goodhue 83 Triton 71-The Wildcats and Cobras were tied 39-39 at the half but Goodhue pulled away in the second half for the win before a nearly packed house at The Auditorium.

Alex Loos had 27 points to lead Goodhue with Owen Roschen adding 20 points, Luke Roschen 18 and Cody Ryan 12. The Wildcats (28-1) defense and rebounding were keys in the second half surge. Goodhue did struggle from the free throw line (13-28) but still came away with a 12 point win. Pierce Petersohn closed out his tremendous high school basketball career with 38 points for Triton (25-5).

Caledonia 58 Zumbrota-Mazeppa 55 (OT)-The Warriors rallied to force overtime and went on to edge the Cougars in the early afternoon game at The Auditorium.

Grant King led Caledonia (18-10) with 22 points. Baxter Arendt had 19 points for Zumbrota-Mazeppa with Hudson Ohm adding 14 and Ethan Miller 12. The Cougars end their year at 23-5.

Goodhue faces Caledonia for the Section 1AA Championship Thursday at Tghe Mayo Civic Auditorium with the pre-game show at 7:40pm and the tip off at 8pm on KWNG 106 and www.kwng.com with Race Roth and Shannon Harrell calling the action.

the winner advances to the boys state basketball tournament March 24-28. There is an off week between the Girls and Boys State Basketball Tournaments this year because Williams Arena is in use the third weekend in March for NCAA Regional Womens basketball.


Boys Basketball Section 1A Semi-Finals at Mayo Civic Auditorium:

Southland 76 Hayfield 37

Lewiston-Altura 71 Wabasha-Kellogg 58-The Falcons fell behind early on and battled hard but fell to the Cardinals Saturday night.

Matt Busch had 17 points, Sam Passe 14 and Brar Ender 13 for Wabasha-Kellogg (10-19). The Falcons return all five starters next season.
