Sonny Gray was nearly unhittable during the Twins' 6-1 win over the Yankees at Target Field. Gray improved to 3-and-0 after striking out eight and giving up just three hits over seven scoreless innings. Joey Gallo launched his sixth home run of the season, and Jorge Polanco went two-for-five with three RBI. The Twins have won their last two games, and they're in first place in the AL Central at 13-and-10. Minnesota sends Joe Ryan to the mound against the Yankees tonight. Hear the game on KWNG & WBHA at 6 pm, 1st pitch 6:40 pm.
The Wild look to win a pivotal Game Five against the Dallas Stars during the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs at American Airlines Center tonight. The Wild and Stars are tied at two games apiece in the best-of-seven series after Dallas beat Minnesota 3-2 in St. Paul on Sunday.
The Timberwolves will try to stave off elimination once again when they take on the Denver Nuggets in Game Five at Ball Arena tonight. Minnesota beat Denver in overtime 114-108 on Sunday to avoid getting swept in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Timberwolves still trail in the best-of-seven series three-games-to-one, and they'll be without key role player Kyle Anderson. Anderson will miss the game with an eye injury.
The Heat got a historic performance from their star player in a 119-114 Game Four win over the Bucks in Miami. Jimmy Butler scored a career-high 56 points and set a team record for most points scored in a playoff game. Miami is now up 3-1 in the best-of-seven opening round series. Brook Lopez scored 36 points for Milwaukee while Giannis Antetokounmpo netted 26 in his return from a back injury. Game Five tips off in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Aaron Rodgers is being traded to the New York Jets. Multiple reports say the Jets have finalized a deal with the Green Bay Packers. The Pack will reportedly swap first round picks with the Jets this year and also get a 2nd round pick and 6th round pick in this week's draft. The Jets get Rodgers, the Packers' first round selection this year and a third round pick this year. Green Bay also will get a second-round pick from the Jets, that could turn into a first depending on the amount of snaps Rodgers plays.
The Brewers fell to the Tigers 4-2 in Milwaukee. Colin Rea got the loss after surrendering four runs on five hits over five innings. Willy Contreras and Mike Brosseau each blasted solo shots for Milwaukee, which dropped to 15-and-8. The Brew Crew are second in the NL Central. The Brewers are back in action tonight for game two. Eric Lauer gets the start opposite Spencer Turnbull.
