Jaden McDaniels had 24 points in the losing effort, while Anthony Edwards finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Minnesota trails 1-0 in the series. Game Two is in Minneapolis tomorrow night. In other team news, Edwards was named to the All-NBA Second Team yesterday.
The Minnesota Twins took the rubber-match of their three-game series against the Washington Nationals 3-2 at Nationals Park. After Washington scored in the bottom of the seventh, Ryan Jeffers drove in an insurance run in the ninth. Steven Okert earned his first win in relief, while Jhoan Duran picked up his fourth save. The Twins have won their last two games and remain in third place in the AL Central at 26-and-23. The Twins host the Rangers tomorrow night.
