Red Wing High School graduate and U.S. Army Sgt. Atreyu Moore will give the keynote address for the 2024 Community Veterans Day Commemoration on Friday, Nov. 8.
The public event will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Red Wing High School gymnasium and the community is encouragred to join them in saluting the area’s veterans and active duty personnel as well as the 2025 class members who have enlisted to serve our nation.
Moore graduated in 2018 and began basic training at age 17 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, followed by field artillery training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and airborne school at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served four years in the 2nd Battalion 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment.
He currently owns a small business and helps advise the Black Student Union at RWHS.
There will be a military color guard. Red Wing High School Concert Band, Ovation, and a Native American drummer will provide music.
Please enter at the District Office, door No. 36. Veterans and guests will be escorted to seating on the gymnasium floor. There is an elevator available.
The event is sponsored by Red Wing Public Schools, Minnesota State College Southeast, Red Wing American Legion Post 54 and Beyond the Yellow Ribbon of Hiawatha Valley.
