Duff Endowment Fund Conversation

The Duff Endowment Fund will present “Freedom, Democracy & the Presidency,”  a community conversation with author Jeffrey A. Engel, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at the Sheldon Theatre in Red Wing.

He has authored or edited 13 books on American foreign policy and is currently writing ”Seeking Monsters to Destroy: How America Goes to War, From Washington to Biden and Beyond” (Oxford University Press).

The backdrop is this year’s semiquincentennial Fourth of July – the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the resulting war for independence.

Kerri Miller of Minnesota Public Radio will moderate the conversation, and there will be time for audience questions.

This is a free event, but reservations are recommended and can be made at www.sheldontheatre.org or by calling 651-388-8700.

Engel is a frequent contributor on international and political affairs for numerous media outlets.

The late Phil Duff was a longtime editor and owner of the Red Wing Republican Eagle.

The lecture series reflects his passion for democracy and everyday citizens’ roles in it.
