Red Wing Street & Road Construction

It may be winter now, but the City of Red Wing is already well into planning the other main season of the year: road construction.

The last major reconstruction project focused on East Seventh Street, and 2026's planned project will occur just a few blocks over, covering East Third, East Fourth, Sanderson, Green, and Arkin streets.

A full street reconstruction project includes replacing water and sewer infrastructure, as well as the street and sidewalk.

A neighborhood meeting on the project is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Colvill Family Center, 269 East Fifth St.

Then City Council will hold a public hearing on the project at its meeting on Monday, February 23.

Both are great opportunities to learn more about the project and share your feedback.

I checked the update on Red Wing street and road work and it made me think about how much planning and patience goes into keeping roads safe while traffic keeps moving. Last semester I was swamped with deadlines and once had to take my online class cheap just to finish everything without falling behind. That experience reminded me how smart help and good timing can ease stress when work piles up.
