The annual KWNG-KCUE radio event to help the Red Wing Area Food Shelf is happening Friday from noon to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm at Walmart.
KWNG and KCUE will be broadcasting live during Project Food Shelf from Walmart both days.
New Food Shelf Manager, Amy Schaffer, says like last year, you can shop at Walmart, you can bring food from home or donate cash or checks.
Shaffer says for those who have not visited the Food Shelf it’s much like shopping at the grocery store.
She says income eligibility is not a huge barrier, single people can earn to $45,180 annually and a family of four, $93,500.

David Anderson, Board member of the Food Shelf as well as a volunteer, says the food drive comes at a great time of year, the need is sometimes greater around the holidays.
He says they serve between 750 and 800 households a month year round.
