Water levels continue to climb on the Mississippi.
According to the National Weather Service, the river at Hastings below Lock and Dam 2 is expected to reach moderate flood level of 17 ft by Tuesday, and major flood level, 18 ft. by Wednesday and reach 19.7 ft. by Saturday.
Red Wing’s measurement stood at 11.59 as of Saturday afternoon andd is forecast to go over the minor stage at 14 feet by Thursday. Moderate flooding is forecast at 15.1 feet by Saturday.
The river at Lake City is expected to rise to minor flood stage of 16.2 Thursday and crest at 16.2 feet by Friday. Moderate flooding occurs at 18 feet.
Wabasha continues to experience minor flooding, measured at 12.32 feet as of Saturday and the river is forecast to rise to 13.8 feet by Friday, just under moderate flood stage of 14 feet.
