Red Wing Aces 10 Stewartville-Racine Sharks 4
The Aces pounded out 13 hits in the win over the Sharks at The Ath.
Zach Harding's bases loaded double staked Red Wing to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. The Aces chased Sharks starting pitcher Jack Patten with the three runs in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Jordan Lockrem, an RBI single by Zach Harding and an RBI sac fly by Teddy Tauer to grab a 7-1 lead.
The Sharks chased Aces starting pitcher Sam Palmatier with three runs in the seventh inning as Jack Carlson came on the to close out the inning for Red Wing.
The Aces scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and one more in the eighth to cruise to the win.
Zach Harding had three hits and four RBI to lead the Aces. Marcus Walm and Jordan Lockrem had two hits and Teddy Tauer added two RBI.
Sam Palmatier went six innings on the mound for the win with Jack Carlson pitching two innings and Aidan O'Brien pitching the ninth inning for the Aces.
Red Wing 9-12 and 5-0 in Region 5C games. Stewartville-Racine is 10-3 on the season.
The Aces visit Hastings Friday with the pre-game at 7:15pm and the the first pitch at 7:30pm on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE/KCUE 99FM and on-line at www.kcueradio.com with Jack Colwell.
Elsewhere, Cannon Falls beat Waseca 11-0.
