With winter well underway it’s time to think about parking restrictions during snow emergencies.
Sgt. Bill Weist of the Lake City Police Department says the city uses both snow alerts and snow emergencies to help plows clear the streets and it’s helpful to know the difference.
Weist says your vehicle won’t get towed but being aware on snowy days can help you avoid a ticket and save a fair chunk of change. He says it easy to sign up for alerts on the city’s website.
Weist says they use social media and the radio to announce snow emergencies but the easiest way is to sign up for the city’s the Code Red Alert. To find the link to sign up, go to
