
The Lake City Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in Florence township in Goodhue county Monday at 5:44 pm.
While en-route deputies on scene advised a large brush pile was smoldering.
Engine 16 arrived and pulled 2 pre-connects to keep the fire contained.
Due to the size of the brush pile and how long it had been burning, command requested a tanker from Red Wing Fire Department and 2 tankers from Goodhue Fire & Rescue.
Lake City Ambulance was on scene for EMS standby along with Wabasha Fire Department also was on standby for any calls in their service area.
Lake City Fire was on scene for a total of 3 hours and a total of 17 firefighters were on scene with no injuries reported.
