Wabasha County Commissioners recently approved an amended conditional use permit for Brian Yotter to expand a feedlot and increase by 980.6 animal units, with six conditions.
The Plainview News reports Yotter submitted an application for a CUP amendment in April to increase the feedlot capacity of Scotch Prairie Farms LLC in West Albany.
The property is zoned in the Agricultural Protection District (A-1).
The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing in May and voted 5-0 in recommending that the proposed CUP be approved, with several conditions.
The amendment requires Yotter to add chloride twice per year, once in late spring and again toward the end of summer on portions of County Road 4 to 500 feet beyond the second parcel, to keep dust down.
Proof of application must be provided to the County each year to show that the condition has been met.
