Wabasha County Sheriff Retiring Early

Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsh, who had announced in February he was retiring at the end of his current contract has decided to leave his position a little earlier than he thought he would.

He says after talking with his family he thought leaving at the end of May made more sense after 24 years in the position.

Bartsh says the job comes with a lot of stress and it’s not always easy to deal with that.

Deputy Jason Bade has announced he is running. Bade has been with Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office for 24 years, overall he has 29 years of law enforcement experience. He has also  spent 20 years with the Plainview Fire Department.
