Jefferson School Site Proposals

Developers can submit housing proposals to the Red Wing Port Authority for the Jefferson School site but the deadline to submit is almost here.

Ideas must follow guidelines approved by the City Council and the deadline is Monday, August 31st .

Proposals must be limited to 24 housing units per acre (52 total) and any additional structure must be limited to a maximum of three stories.

Proposals will also score higher if they save the historic school building and include a playground and/or open space for the public.

The school district still owns the site, but the Port Authority is leading the search for developers and aims to identify one by fall.

Thursday, September 10^th, full responses are due from developers and the selection of preferred developer will be decided by October 6^th.

Port Authority will move forward with property purchase by October 31^st.
