Wabasha County’s 2025 Farm Family

The Paul and Mamie Luhmann family of Lake City has been named Wabasha County’s 2025 Farm Family of the Year by the University of Minnesota.
Paul and Mamie Luhmann and their family manage 70 registered Montadale ewes and stud rams, as well as a vegetable and cut flower farm, near Lake City.
The Plainview News reports they purchased the farm in 2012.
The Luhmanns sell show and breeding animals and exhibit their sheep on the local, state and national levels.
They also directly sell market lamb to consumers, cultivate several acres of vegetables, garlic, and cut flowers, and market farm fresh eggs through local farmers’ markets and local retail businesses.
The family will be offcially rec
ognized in a ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 7 at the annual Farmfest event near Redwood Falls (visit www.farmfest.com for more information).
