
Wabasha County Commissioners on September 17 adopted a proposed 2025 Property Tax Levy at $17,770,544 - a 5 percent increase ($846,425) over the 2024 adopted levy.
Auditor/Treasurer Francie Warren will certify the proposed 2025 property tax levy to the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
According to the Plainview News, a Truth in Taxation hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 3 in the County Board room at the Old Courthouse Annex at 625 Jefferson Ave. in Wabasha.
The Commissioners also adopted a proposed 2025 budget.
The County Board also adopted a proposed 2025 property tax levy for the Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing Redevelopment (SEMMCHRA).
The proposed levy for the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) was set at $81,982, to be allocated as needed. The 2024 final levy was set at $87,750.
SEMMCHRA, organized in 1981, was created by action of the Boards of Commissioners of Wabasha, Winona, Goodhue and Dodge counties.
SEMMCHRA helps provide affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing to citizens residing in their service area.
