Rising Gas Prices

Gas prices are on the rise across Minnesota, but drivers are still paying less than the national average.

According to the AAA, the statewide average for regular unleaded is now about $3.93 per gallon, compared to roughly $4.23 nationwide.

In Red Wing Kwip Trip and goodstop by Casey’s as of Wednesday was selling regular unleaded for $4.09. VP Racing Fuel was at $3.79.

Kwik Trip and BP in Lake City was priced at $3.99.

In Wabasha, at BP, gas was at $3.79 and at Kwik Trip it was selling for $3.99 a gallon.

In Plainview gas was $3.69 at Cenex, Kwik Trip and BP.

Kwik Trip, Casey’s and Marathon in Zumbrota were at $4.09.

Part of the increase is tied to tensions involving Iran, which sits near the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for about 20% of the world’s oil supply.

Any disruption there can quickly drive prices higher.
