The Wabasha County Commissioners recently authorized the donations of AED defibrillator units to the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office received AED units through a training program grant and will donate units to the Zumbro Falls Fire Department, Wabasha Ambulance/Fire Department, Immanuel Lutheran School in Plainview; and the Elgin Fire Department.
In other business, the Commisioners approved of an agreement between Wabasha County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation, allowing for the use of up to $800,000 in federal Aid funds by the City of Wabasha for engineering services.
According to the Plainview News, this agreement and the funds are for the specific project of a proposed Highway 60 re-alignment from County State Aid Highway 30 (Hiawatha Drive) to Grant Boulevard (CSAH 59) through existing City-owned property.
The construction project itself, is expected to follow within the next two years.
