Wabasha County Commissioners on Dec. 22 approved the adoption of a final 2026 property tax levy at $18,658,788, a 5 percent increase from the 2025 levy.
The amount does not include the County’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA).
The Plainview News reports the Commissioners also adopted 2026 budgets for the County Attorney and Sheriff’s departments.
Salaries and wages for non-union Attorney’s office employees will increase by 2.5 percent for a Cost of Living Adjustment and by a classification and compensation study by David Drown Associates, Inc., a Minneapolis-based financial consulting firm, consistent with wage increases for all non-union employees.
Salaries and wages for all full-time and regular part-time non-union Sheriff’s Office employees will also increase by 2.5 percent
County Attorney Matthew Stinson’s salary was set at $135,300 in a separate resolution on December 2nd During the same meeting, Sheriff Rodney Bartsch’s salary was set at $140,900.
