Veteran Suicide Prevention Training

Greg Taylor

Goodhue County Health & Human Services is partnering with the Cannon Falls VFW Post 4452 and American Legion Post 142 to host a S.A.V.E. Veteran Suicide Prevention Training this week.

All are welcome to attend this FREE event Thursday, September 26th at 6:30 pm at the VFW Post 4452 and American Legion Post 142, 218 4th Street North, Cannon Falls, to learn about Veteran suicide. Cannon Falls veterans and community members will speak. Appetizers will be provided.

Erin Friesenborg is the VFW Post 4452 Commander and says S.A.V.E. is intended to raise awareness, identify signs, and help you act with care and compassion if you come across a Veteran in crisis.

She says the S stands for signs of suicidal thoughts that you should look for.

Friesenborg says the A stands for asking the most important question, are you thinking about suicide, the V for validation and E, encourage treatment.

Walk-ins are welcome but for the QR code and the link to register, go to https://www.facebook.com/CannonFallsVFW/.
