UW River Falls Time Capsule

ree

Community members are invited to peek at the past during an unveiling of items recovered from a time capsule buried at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls five decades ago.

Contents of the time capsule will be on display for viewing Tuesday, May 6, from 2-6 p.m. in the University Archives and Area Research Center, room 170 in the lower level of the Chalmer Davee Library.

The event will offer attendees the opportunity to see a display of items and artifacts from the capsule, providing a snapshot of campus life from the time it was sealed 50 years ago.

UWRF Archives staff and the UWRF History Club have been working to document a selection of items that had been placed in the time capsule when it was buried in 1975 as part of the university’s 100th anniversary.

The opening of the capsule coincides with UWRF’s sesquicentennial celebration this year, marking 150 years of campus history.

The time capsule display will remain open for viewing through the end of May.

University Archives hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday by appointment.
