The Twins avoided being swept by the Giants with a 7-1 win at Target Field. Edouard Julien led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run, and Matt Wallner put the Twins up for good with an RBI double in the next inning. Ryan Jeffers added a home run in the victory, and Joe Ryan improved to 7-and-1 after holding San Francisco to one run on six hits in five innings. The Twins snapped a three-game losing streak, and they remain first in the AL Central at 26-and-24. The Twins begin a weekend home series against the Blue Jays tomorrow.

The Twins could be without their superstar shortstop for the foreseeable future. Rocco Baldelli told reporters yesterday that Carlos Correa is dealing with a foot injury and might wind up on the ten-day injured list. Correa has a strained muscle in the arch of his left foot and plantar fasciitis in his left heel. Baldelli added that the Twins should know by Friday whether or not Correa will need to miss extended time. The 28-year-old is hitting .213 with six home runs and 24 RBI this season.

The Brewers claimed the rubber match in their series against the Astros after shutting out Houston 4-0 in Milwaukee. Adrian Houser was credited with the victory after tossing five and a third scoreless innings. The Brew Crew combined for three home runs as a team. Willy Adames, Owner Miller and Brian Anderson each went deep in the win. The Brewers host the Giants starting tonight.
