Rescued Driver Lake Pepin

Lake City emergency respndersn were dispatched Thursday around 5:44 pm were dispatched Roschen Park after receiving reports of a vehicle that had entered Lake Pepin.
Lake City Police Department officers, firefighters from the Lake City Fire Department and EMS personnel responded and a police officer and several firefighters entered the water to reach the lone occupant of the submerged vehicle.
The individual was successfully removed from the car and transferred to a Lake City Fire Department rescue boat before being brought to shore.
The driver, who’s name is not being released yet, was transported by EMS to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
Preliminary witness counts suggest the incident may have been the result of a deliberate act by the driver.
The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office and Goodhue County Dive/Rescue team also responded to assist at the scene.
