Red Wing School Board members will dedicate their first workshop of 2026 to sharing what they learned at the Minnesota School Boards Association Leadership Conference Jan. 15-16.
The workshop will get underway at 5 p.m. this afternoon in Red Wing High School room J110.
All seven members and the superintendent attended the annual conference, which offered sessions in artificial intelligence in schools, teacher retention, school finance/levies, board-superintendent relations, student voice, and navigating political pressures.Â
The board also will discuss raising the district’s mandatory fund balance.
Currently, district policy requires general fund reserves of no less than 5%.
For 2025-2026, the balance is running 15-18%, which is considered healthy.
The workshop will be recorded but not livestreamed. See the full agenda on the districts BoardBook.
