The Red Wing Royal Ambassador Organization is asking for a helping hand from the community.
They are seeking funding to perform repairs and ongoing maintenance of the Royal Ambassador Float.
Committee member Jodessa Waldhauser says it’s great bringing the float back after COVID but it needed a lot of work to get it ready for use since the last upgrade almost 10 years ago.
Waldhauser says most of the repairs are done and the total cost is around $4,000. So far they have raised just over 1,700 and the group is asking for donations to help fund the updated look.
The Royal Ambassador Float travels throughout Minnesota each year, showcasing Red Wing in many cities and parades. A donation to the Float the Float Campaign helps assure the float will continue to be seen in Red Wing and nearby communities.
