Eighth graders divided into two groups in the Red Wing High School gym on Friday, October 31.
Each group spent half the day learning about restorative practices and half the day attending AI Literacy Day sessions.
Soul Space, Goodhue County Education District and Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) coordinated the event with the high school.
MDE says that restorative practices -- which are drawn from the traditions of Indigenous people and communities of color around the world -- can benefit students and improve school climate.
