The Red Wing Redevelopment Challenge, which launched February 1st, is a development program designed to spur economic and housing growth in Red Wing's historic downtown area.
Megan Tsui, Downtown Main Street Executive Director, says Red Wing community partners are offering an incentive package worth up to $335,000 for one redevelopment and/ or restoration project.
Tsui says Downtown Main Street will utilize funding already existing and designated to this effort, as well as funding from the Jones Family Foundation.
Applications are due June 30th. Tsui says they will give a recommendation to City Council, HRA, and Port Authority August 1st. The completion date for project or projects selected is December, 2023, although that date is flexible.
