Red Wing New Law Enforcement Center Meetings

Greg Taylor

The Red Wing Police Department is currently exploring several options to expand at a new location.

Assistant Police Chief, Brian Metling, says next week they are giving the community an opportunity to listen, learn, and give your input on the possibility of a new law enforcement building.

Assistant Chief Metling says at the meetings they will discuss topics like why is this conversation happening, what would a new building mean for residents and how can it work financially.

The first meeting will be held Tuesday, February 11 at 9:30 am in the Ignite Building, 419 Bush Street.

The second will take place at Fire Station 2, 4880 Moundview Drive, on Thursday, February 13 at 6:30 pm.

Currently, the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and the Red Wing Police Department share a building on West Sixth Street downtown.

Their lease with the Law Enforcement Center is currently set to expire in 2027.
