Red Wing Man Indicted on Murder Charges
A 34-year old Red Wing man has been indicted by a Dakota County Grand Jury on several charges in connection with the death of 36-year-old Kelly Jo Kocurek of Hastings on May 23, 2021.
Kyle Steven Williams has been indicted of one count each of Murder in the First Degree (Domestic Abuse), Murder in the First Degree (Premeditated), and Murder in the Second Degree (With Intent/Not Premeditated).
According to a criminal complaint filed against Williams, Kocurek was found unresponsive, bloody and bruised May 18, 2021, in a room at Coratel Inn and Suites on Vermillion and 25th streets. She was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul and was in a coma before dying May 23.
Kocurek grew up in Hastings and had been living in Red Wing.
Williams current bail conditions continue to remain in effect (i.e., $2,000,000 with conditions).
His next court appearance is scheduled for April 4, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Hastings.
