Baby Angel Infant Death Trial

The woman charged in a high-profile infant death case, was in court last week.

“Baby Angel” was discovered in a bag floating in the Mississippi River about seven miles south of Winona by boaters in September 2011. The baby was found in a bag with angel figurines.

45-year-old Jennifer Baechle is believed to be the infant’s mother and has been charged with two counts of second-degree manslaughter.

Baechle’s defense attorneys allege the state has not met its probable cause for the manslaughter charges.

State prosecutors  and defense attorney say they will not be giving any more public comments on the case.
