Red Wing House Fire

The Red Wing Fire Department received a call Wednesday at 10:44 am reporting a fire in the eaves of a residence in the 100 Block of 4th Street East in Red Wing.

Fire department personnel arrived on the scene within 90 seconds of receiving the call and found smoke coming from the eaves and roof.

Crews confirmed all occupants were out of the home and made entry to extinguish the fire which was located in a knee wall on the second floor of the home, the fire was out within 10 minutes of arrival.

The residence sustained moderate damage to the living area and exterior of the home. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.

Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office Dispatchers, and Xcel Energy assisted on this incident.

Ellsworth Fire Department and Ellsworth Ambulance provided coverage until additional Red Wing units were available.
