Flooding is expected along the Mississippi River in Red Wing in the coming week.
Area officials are working together to anticipate, plan for, and respond to flooding events to minimize the impacts on local businesses and residents.
Current water levels as of 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, the water level in Red Wing was 9.46 ft. Water levels are expected to rise throughout the week and crest at 13.20 ft. on Monday, June 9th.
• Levee Park/Ikata Drive is closed starting yesterday.
• The City Lab will be closed to the public starting Friday, June 7th, until East 5th Street reopens.
• Boathouse Parking access to the Red Wing Yacht Club and Red Wing Marina off Levee Road will be closed on Friday, June 7th.
• Sturgeon Lake Road will be closed at the driveway of 5390 Sturgeon Lake Road, closing access to the boat launch on Friday, June 6th.
• Bay Point Park will remain open, but access to the East side parking lot will be closed on Friday, June 7th.
• Colvill Park will be closed to all vehicle traffic at the entrance with jersey barricades at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7th and Xcel Energy will de-energize the Park at 8:00 a.m. All rentable facility reservations are canceled, the Aquatic Center is closed, and no bathroom facilities will be available.
• He Mni Can/Barn Bluff at East 5th Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic at the Rail Road overpass bridge on Sunday, June 9th.
