Jay Owens has served as the Red Wing City Engineer since 2004, so when Jay announced he was leaving his job at the March 11th City Council meeting it may have been a surprise to some.
Owens says he has accepted a position with MnDOT in the State Aid Division, and he’s excited about the change.
Owens, a Red Wing native, says he will miss the community and all his great co-workers.
Owens was selected as the City Engineer of the Year for 2018 by the City Engineers Association of Minnesota.
There will be a public reception for Owens on Monday, April 22nd, prior the 6 pm City Council meeting.
