Plainview News Seeking Local Halloween Tales

Halloween, that eerie season, is approaching and Richard Johnson, Plainview News Editor, is once again seeking readers’ stories regarding haunted places, just plain spooky places and things, weird occurrences, and ghostly tales - true or embellished.

The Plainview News would love to come visit and hear your stories, or speak on the phone if you know of such a place and would like to share.

In 2021 they visited a home in Elgin where odd things happen. Owner Roberta Kurth has said she often feels an invisible someone standing behind her, looking over her shoulder as she works on the computer.

According to Johnson, some of the employees also believe the  Plainview News office also may be haunted. Odd things have been known to happen. It’s a spooky place at night.

The newspaper can maintain anonymity if you wish, they are just hoping to celebrate the spooky season with good, hair-raising, or hair-raisingly humorous stories and legends, and hopefully photos, in their October 31 edition.

Please give them a call at (507) 534-3121, shoot them an email at editor@stumpfpublishing.net, or stop by the Plainview News office at 409 W. Broadway Ave. if you’re interested.
