Bill Zuelsdorff has begun work as principal at Immanuel Lutheran School in Plainview.
The Plainview News reports the Merrill, Wis. native succeeds interim principal Ruth Badciong, who took over for the 2023-2024 school year when Rick Arguto was unable to continue as principal due to health issues.
Zuelsdorff earned an elementary education degree from Concordia University in St. Paul and has taught at Lutheran schools in Sheboygan, Wis., Racine, Wis., Lakefield, Minn., Stevens Point, Wis., and Wausau, Wis.
His wife, Carmen, a Lake City native, will teach at Rochester Central Lutheran School.
The couple has three sons.
Zuelsdorff is beginning his 34th year as a teacher and his 22nd year as a principal.
ILS listed 63 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade as of this past week. Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 20. School starts Monday, Aug. 26.
Zuelsdorff said he hopes the school enrollment can grow, through marketing and word-of-mouth.
