Plainview Corn on the Cob Days 2025

Area County Fairs are well underway but they are not the only big get togethers with fun activities going on this summer.


Corn-on-the-Cob Days is a five-day celebration of “Everything Corn” that is unique to Plainview.  


Sponsored by the City of Plainview and coordinated by the Plainview Lions Club—with support from Lakeside Foods, Inc., Foresight Bank, Peoples State Bank, Bennett’s Food Center, Plainview Milk Products, and many others, it’s the big event of the year.  

Running Wednesday, August 13th – Sunday, August 17th, the 55th Annual event kicks off with a praise fest the first evening of the festival and ends  with a grand parade with over 100 entries.

Thursday the 14th, from 5:30 pm – 9 pm it’s live music by Nathan Hansen and chicken by the Plainview Fire Department at TJ’s Tavern. Friday from 11 am – 5 pm enjoy dining at the Plainview Community Center (free will donation) and from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am it’s live music with Flash Mob at TJ’s Tavern.

Saturday, August 16th is big day featuring a Medallion Junt, Scout Pancake Breakfast, 5K and 1 mile run/walk, 3 person best ball golf tournament, a Fun Fest (sponsored by People’s State Bank), Kids Soap Box Car Race and more.


At 1 pm in front of the American Legion, it’s the special Greenwood Prairie Classic Iron Club Tractor Games.

Saturday, August 16th will feature music in three locations. From 4-7 pm, DJ Micheal Timm will be at the American Legion tent (free) and live music with Time & A Half Band at TJ’s Tavern from 4-8 pm (free).


The evening concludes with live music by The Lonely Knees at 7 pm at Atelier @1901.

 

Some of Sunday, August 17th highlights: enjoying all the corn on the cob that you can eat served from 11 am-3 pm. Between 8 and 10 TONS of corn are served in the 4 hour period.  


The Grande Parade kicks off around 1:30 pm followed by a Strong Person Competition. UnHniged takes the stage at the American Legion tent to wrap up the event.


Corn-on-the-Cob Days typically draws up to 6,000 visitors to Plainview.
