Plainview City Council Housing Rehab Grant

The Plainview City Council on April 8 approved a resolution authorizing the Wabasha-based Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCHRA) to apply for a Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) grant for Housing Rehabilitation Funds for the City of Plainview, and to establish a Citizen Participation Plan in accordance with the grant’s parameters.

According to the Plainview News, the grant would assist the city in providing funds to assist residents of low to moderate income facilitate improvements to their homes.

S EMMCHRA grant-writer,  Patrick Michener, says the goal of this program is to complete 21 owner-occupied rehabilitation projects within the city limits of Plainview for income qualified households.

Awards are expected to be announced this fall.
