National Weather Service SKYWARN Training


The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities is looking for storm spotters for the spring and summer severe weather season.


SKYWARN is a volunteer program that help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the NWS.


SKYWARN classes are free and last around 2 ½ hours.


Training will be in Cannon Falls at the Public Safety Building, 320 Hoffman Street, on Saturday, April 1st at 9 am.


In Red Wing, the session will be held at the Law Enforcement Center, 430 West 6th Street, Tuesday, April 11th at 6:30 pm.


First Lutheran Church in Kenyon, 309 Forest Street, will host a training session in the basement on Saturday, April 22nd at 9 am.
