The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities is looking for storm spotters for the spring and summer severe weather season.
SKYWARN is a volunteer program that help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the NWS.
SKYWARN classes are free and last around 2 ½ hours.
Skywarn Online Training is sponsored by Sogn Valley Skywarn. This Wednesday, the class will begin at 6:30 pm and will be taught by a non-NWS instructor.
There will be online training again on Monday, March 9th from 5:30 pm – 8 pm. Sign up at https://www.sogn.us.
In person training in Cannon Falls at the Christ Church, 29470 Gaylord Avenue, will take place on Saturday, March 21st at 9 am.
Registration is not required, but seating may be limited. Early arrival is suggested.Â
SKYWARN training Tuesday, March 24th at 6:30 pm in Pepin. The class will be held at the Village Hall, at 508 2nd St.
